EMC S.p.A. is an Italian company that developes and produces mobile/fixed/base VHF and UHF transceivers in its premises in Modena. The company also produces repeater stations for both single and synchronised use. To accompany its range of mobile/fixed transceivers and repeater stations EMC S.p.A. offers its systems complete with software, hardware and accessories.
Design of both hardware and software is almost always conducted in-house, and for this reason the Company holds the complete knowledge of all systems sold. This is an extremely important feature which allows for the protection of specific know – how. Moreover, it grants the interaction between the sales and design departments and allows for a prompt response to market needs by giving particular features to products, even if they are designed respecting international specifications. Circuit drawings, as well as mechanical parts drawings, are realised using special software programmes.
The Company wrote the quality manual following ISO 9001 specifications and on the 1st of September 1995 it obtained CSQ certification for its internal quality system.
At the end of 1995 the firm had an important order from the Italian Civil Protection Ministry, for the supply of nearly 2000 mobile stations with a new design, completely programmable and with a powerful last generation microprocessor.
The necessary software was completely developed internally. The related mechanical and electronic hardware tooling was devised by the design department and is owned by the company….
